Introduction

The company recently raised significant funding through Kickstarter and investors for a social camera device. They built out a team to deliver the product to their backers. Contributed to the development cycle of V1 and V2 of the product from prototyping to mass production.

Challenges Overcome

  • Built and maintained a fully compliant Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth LE (Dual mode) host subsystem stack. Completed Bluetooth certification with the Bluetooth SIG.
  • For V2 of the product, costing down the device required cutting the flash memory. Firmware underwent heavy optimization to meet the new requirement of 64kB flash from the V1 requirement of 128kB of flash.
  • Thrived in the constraints of working with the Bluetooth specifications. Gained an expertise in Bluetooth technology and stack development.

Results

  • Worked with every phase of board bringup from prototype to mass production. Final products made it into the hands of happy customers. Product survived multiple generations of Android and iPhone models without firmware updates.
  • Fully qualified the Bluetooth host subsystem stack with the Bluetooth SIG. some text
